Barneys New York of Scottsdale Invites Special Needs Kids to Have a Witty Holiday!

To kick off the holiday season, Barneys New York selected the Children’s Angel Foundation, an affiliate of Hacienda HealthCare as their first charity ever in Arizona! Barneys asked the children of the Children’s Angel Foundation to paint a portrait of something or someone who makes them laugh. Once completed, the canvasses were displayed in Barneys holiday window display through January 1, inviting everyone to “Have a Witty Holiday!”

These one of kind pieces of art are available for sale with 100% of the proceeds to benefit the Children’s Angel Foundation.

Barneys New York opened at Scottsdale Fashion Square on October 15 and has already started giving back to the community. Barneys store interior is a unique combination of design, whimsical display and a sophisticated gallery-like environment. The Barneys window displays, designed by creative director Simon Doonan, are world famous. Barneys is also renowned for creative advertising campaigns, original holiday themes, and philanthropic causes ranging from the arts to the environment.

In theme of the Barneys holiday windows changes every year, they are always humorous, creative and interesting. The window displays are typically unveiled in late November or early December and are on view through the New Year.

The Children’s Angel Foundation is the fundraising ‘arm’ for Hacienda HealthCare. Founded in 1967 as Hacienda de los Angeles, a single facility serving three children, Hacienda has continued to expand to meet the needs of the ever-increasing numbers of infants, children and young adults who require the high level of medical and habilitation care offered by the organization. Today, Hacienda HealthCare is Arizona’s leading provider of specialized health care and social services to infants, children and young adults who have medical, physical and intellectual impairments. Hacienda’s comprehensive service system is capable of meeting the habilitation, restorative and long-term needs of individuals who are victims of genetic disorders, birth trauma, accidents, physical abuse and debilitating or life threatening diseases.

More About the Children’s Angel Foundation

The Children’s Angel Foundation is the fundraising “arm” for all facilities and programs under Hacienda HealthCare. In order for Children’s Angel Foundation to succeed in its mission, to provide an enhanced quality of life for our patients, the Foundation relies on friends in the local community. The Children’s Angel Foundation holds an annual fundraising event, the Night of Angels theater and silent auction event.

Examples include:

• Paying for patients of low-income families to go on excursions
• Obtaining toys, games and clothes for patients
• Purchasing capital items such as vans
• Purchasing specialized equipment not covered by health care plans
